Interesting information: In just less than 18 years, at December 31, 2008, the Noble County Community Foundation along with its supporting organization, Community Initiatives, Inc. had combined net assets in the amount of $15,121,755; we have approximately 190 funds, of which approximately 59 are scholarship funds. We have funds varying from Black Pine Animal Park, to Fire Department funds like the Albion Fire Department, the Kendallville Windmill Museum, and P.U.L.S.E. – a fund for our youth. Our Foundation is made possible by very generous donors who are passionate about Noble County and its residents.
In 2008 we gave grants of over $680,000, of which over $104,000 was for scholarships. Our grants committees gifted various unrestricted and field of interest grants in excess of $128,000.
During this time of economic uncertainty when folks are not sure what is going to happen next with the economy, Noble County Community Foundation strives to provide a vehicle that addresses changing community needs, providing a reason for people to give locally. We are a service organization for donors providing cost effective ways for donors to make a long term difference to the causes close to their heart. As an asset builder and grant maker, and through its understanding of local issue, the Noble County Community Foundation can make perceptive and well targeted grants that help secure a bright future for generations to come in Noble County.
